ADS 8194 Practicum in Applied Biomedical Data Science
Students must complete a six-credit-hour practicum, forming a supervisory committee of at least three St. Jude Graduate School faculty members, chaired or co-chaired by a data scientist and including a biologist or clinician. The student will propose, execute, and defend a biomedical data science research project, developing valuable software or data resources. The project involves statistical and computational analysis of existing biomedical data to answer a significant research question. The student will produce a written thesis, develop software or data resources, and present an oral defense. A mid-point progress check is recommended but not required.
